The CPCS A61 – Appointed Persons (Lifting Operations) Course is designed for Managers and Supervisors or anybody with the day-to-day responsibility for planning lifting operations.
The course aims to instruct delegates how to safely plan a lifting operation to ensure compliance with the law and secure the health and safety of all employees and of those who may be affected by their actions. This includes an ability to plan a lift, interpret and apply sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes and to understand the LOLER Regulations.

* Please note that for this CPCS course, candidates must have successfully completed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test for Managers & Professionals within the past two years.
CSCS Health & Safety tests can be booked through Central Construction Training to be taken at our Cannock, West Midlands test centre.
To upgrade to the CPCS Blue Competent Operator the NVQ Level 5 Appointed Person must be achieved.
Assessment for this qualification is provided in the workplace and the assessor will observe and gather the relevant evidence to sign off the qualification as a competent operator for the Blue license.
The NVQ cost is £1,395 + VAT and must be achieved within 2 years of passing the CPCS trained operator course.
