Course information

This category of CPCS Plant training is aimed operators of ride on rollers. CPCS training courses are designed to lead to Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) qualifications, which allow those holding a valid qualification to carry a CPCS card.

The A31 course aims to train operators in the theoretical and practical parts of the ride on roller. The aim of which is passing the CPCS technical test.

A typical novice A31 CPCS course would include both theoretical and practical training such as, pre start and running checks on machine, setting the roller for site travel, travelling over differing types of terrain, manoeuvring, compacting with different materials and edges, and transported loading and unloading procedures.

The CPCS technical test at the end of the course includes a theory and practical test.

As with other CPCS categories there are foundation or novice courses for those with little experience and as well as experienced worker courses. Course choice will depend on how much experience the delegate has.

* Please note that for all CPCS tests, candidates must have successfully completed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test for Operatives within the past two years.

CSCS Health & Safety tests can be booked through Central Construction Training to be taken at our Cannock, West Midlands test centre.
